Now, Repurpose Notes Easily With ‘Keep Notepad’ In Google Docs

Now, Repurpose Notes Easily with ‘Keep Notepad’ in Google Docs

When Google released Google Keep like many others, I was confused as well. What is Google Keep? Is it a note-taking app, a reminder app or a to-do app? However, in last two years or two, Google with the help of Google Keep, and the 'reminder' feature added to Google Calendar last year built an integrated, flawless and sophisticated productivity echo system with Google's Inbox at the centre.

Now, Google is taking the integration to a new level with Google docs. With the new " Keep Notepad" in Google Docs, you can now access all Keep Notes in Google Docs, so you can easily revisit and repurpose the notes.
Starting March, any Google Doc user can simply select "Keep notepad" from the Tools menu to pull up a sidebar containing your notes from Keep (and the option to search them). You can then edit those notes and drag and drop them into your document, which is a very useful feature.
If you're inspired by the content already in your doc, you can create a new note by highlighting the relevant text, right-clicking, and selecting "Save to Keep notepad", says in a recent GSuite blog post.
If all you want is to create a new note, you can start typing in the "Take a note..." box in the notepad. All notes you create while in a document will be added to a "related" section within the sidebar. And most importantly when you view those notes in Keep later, they will include a link back to the document in which they were created. The new features and integration are making Google Keep into a major contender to be the leading note taking service. Watch out Evernote !
