Sporty and masculine: Huawei presents Watch 2 at the WMC 2017

At the launching of the World Mobile Congress, Huawei has attracted attention, especially with its new Smarphone flagship from the P10 series. However, the Chinese electronics manufacturer is also presenting two new smartwatch models at the trade fair. The Watch 2 and the Watch 2 Classic differ significantly from the predecessor. Instead of elegance, Huawei now relies on sportiness. Instead of restraint is now announced.
Especially watch 2 is visibly much more plastic and coarser than Huawei Watch from the year 2015. The classic version is much more limited in its plasticity and therefore more strongly based on the previous model. With a thickness of 12.6 mm the devices are nearly two millimeters thicker. The manufacturer has saved the size of the round display, which is now 1.2 inches in size compared to the 1.4 inch screen from Huawei Watch.

On the technical side, the Huawei Watch 2 scores with an LTE connectivity. The Wearable is also equipped with a nano-SIM card, with which it is possible to connect the device to the Internet and to operate it independently of a smartphone . In addition, the watch has a GPS module and a heart rate tracker. The operating system is Google Android Wear 2.0 preinstalled.

The Watch 2 Classic is less but also more

The classic version has the disadvantage that it has neither LTE connectivity nor a SIM card slot. For it, the Watch 2 with a battery runtime of supposedly up to three days; Whose 420 mAh battery should last up to two days. Both models have a function called "watchmode", which significantly reduces energy consumption and extends battery life to up to 25 days. This is made possible by a reduction in the function spectrum of the gadget to the display of the time and the step counter.
According to The Verge, citing Huawei, the manufacturer's new watch series will be launched in Germany in March of this year. Depending on the model and equipment, the devices cost between 329 and 399 euros.
